reflection sheet
1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
This project meets the 8.10 standard because it meets all its expectations. In this project, I mentioned the causes of the Civil War in my fictional diary. The Civil War Diary had key events in order like the start of the Civil War, Emancipation Proclamation, Gettysburg Address, and etc... I mentioned complex consequences of the Civil War like slaves working for the Confederate side forcefully and etc...
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this assignment
One skill I felt I gained from completing this project was creativity because i had to make up several diary stories that refer back to the topic we had to write about. Such as the Abolitionist Movement, Missouri Compromise, Kansas Nebraska Act, Dred Scott Desicion, and etc...
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects?
Even though I got a full score on this assignment, I can work in making it look like a authentic civil war diary. I could have gone a step ahead, even if it wasn't on the rubric. Improving in this area if work will help me get a higher score on future projects like this based on the creativity.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment
in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly in today’s society)? Make connections between the content and your life.
I will presently apply the content and skills I learned from this assignment in the real world by using my creativity to make historically accurate fictional stories. I may want to write a book or something that people can read, so they can learn about the right things they should do, unlike treating people unfairly based on their race, color, gender, and etc... The causing of the Civil War should be a thing people in today's society should learn about. By doing this historically accurate fictional stories/writing, to teach people in a positive way.
