Reflection sheet
1. Justify how this project/lab/activity meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself.
This activity meets SEP 7 because we were defending our planet on why it could sustain life with evidence, such as it has a small amount of methane in the atmosphere or that it has a rocky surface. We also questioned the opposing side by using evidence on why their planet can't sustain life, such as it's clouds are made of acid or the gravitational pull there is 90 times greater than those on Earth. It also meets SEP 8 because we obtained information from the science textbooks from class or from additional, optional sources that include the Internet and etc... We created two claims that were that our planet can sustain life and that the opposing group's planet can't sustain it based on our evidence we obtained. We communicated with the opposing group our evidence to support our claims in our planetary debate. Along with using our device we created to help the sustainability of life on our planet more in case we ran out of evidence.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project
One skill/strength I feel I gained from completing this activity was in communication with evidence. I argued against the opposing group on how my planet Uranus is able to sustain life with evidence like beneath Uranus's atmosphere is a thick/slushy layer of water.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is one SEP/or area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this SEP/area benefit future work/projects?
One SEP I could have done better on was obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information (SEP 8). I could have done better on the obtaining and evaluating information for the most part. Improving in SEP 8 will benefit future work/projects because in most of these works include having evidence/ obtaining it to make claims. Sometimes it even involves communicating your information.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real-world, outside of the classroom? Make connections between the content and your life
I will presently apply the content and skills I learned from this assignment in the real-world by when I am negotiating as a business man on trying to get the best deal possible. I will use evidence to argue why a deal may be unfair or the best one for everyone. Business involves a lot of communication with evidence/information.
